Former FBI Director did a grave disservice to the functioning of democracy in the United States by politicizing the agency he was tasked to lead, which is intended to be nonpartisan.
It is very clear, after the way he lied about the extent of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of sensitive information through her emails, that he had helped a sitting president cover up a scandal, and he needed to be fired. President Donald Trump certainly gave Comey a chance to change his ways, but sources revealed the three words that Comey refused to utter that ended up being the difference maker.
According to an inside source who spoke with the Wall Street Journal, Comey had again slipped into politicizing his bureau, and Trump was unnerved by the fact that Comey continued to maintain the liberal conspiracy theory about Trump and Russia. The source stated that Comey refused to “say those three little words: ‘There’s no ties.’”
Wrote Trump to Comey in his letter informing him that he had been immediately removed from his position, “While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau.”
Added Trump, “It is essential that we find new leadership for the FBI that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission.” Are you glad that Trump finally took action and fired corrupt Comey?
